ANNA'S INTERESTS

Excited to facilitate learning for tomorrow's artists & expressive personalities

I am a VA licensed educator with 9 years of teaching experience. My teaching license covers Elementary preK-6 and all grade levels in Visual Art. My experience is split between elementary teaching (4 years) and Art/Design teaching (6 years) in US-accredited schools abroad. For 2022-23 school year, my family is relocating to Winston-Salem in North Carolina.

I am a person that will be able to rise to new challenges and succeed. My life has included multiple times where I have had to adapt and reinvent myself, starting over and finding a new way to succeed. When I moved to the US, I found out that no one would take my Ukrainian degree seriously, so I worked in low end jobs, while obtaining a new Associate’s degree in web technology and then a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts and Graphic Design in the US. I then worked in this field until we moved overseas to Korea. I worked as teaching intern and found out that I loved teaching, so I pursued my Master’s in Education. At each school, I have been able to adapt to new situations, and succeed. For example, when I went to Azerbaijan, I helped to write and implement a Design curriculum in a school with little resources. This was during COVID. Then a war broke out, martial law was instituted, and kids were in and out of online and in-school learning. There was also an accreditation cycle that year. But I was able to succeed in getting everything working and the school received its accreditation, even with everything going on.

I have a M.Ed. of Curriculum and Instruction, which prepared me for Elementary classroom teaching (all subjects), focus on IB and international school teaching. My teacher license (USA, Virginia) covers all grade levels in Visual Art. I am currently working on adding an endorsement to teach Russian as well.

I have a variety of interests in various media. I've done graphics and layout design, stained glass, know how to operate clay studio, laser-cutter, 3d printer, and sewing machines. I have many other interests that I could utilize in extracurricular activities.
